Salesian Cooperator a step closer to Sainthood

Monday the 7th of September

Servant of God Fr Felice CanelliThe Servant of God Fr Felice Canelli (1880-1977), Salesian Cooperator and diocesan priest of the Diocese of San Severo (Foggia) was the father and the caring brother of the SDB and FMA of the city and with the lay forces of the Salesian Family, under the banner of "good Christians and honest citizens", he refounded the diocesan church and the social community by inserting Salesian cooperators and former pupils in the diocesan and municipal association councils and making Don Bosco's charism a lever to renew local church and the territory. From 1905 to 1977 he was a true Salesian with and among the sons of Don Bosco, so much so that he was called "Don Bosco di San Severo". The Cause of Beatification promoted by the Salesian Postulation and the Diocese opened on 25 March 2009 and closed on 30 November 2013. From 2015 to 2019 a Positio was drawn up. On 29 September the College of Consultors of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints will rule on it. It is an important date towards Venerability. Let us pray for this confrere of ours who loved Don Bosco and the Salesian Family so much
