The local centre is at the heart of the Salesian Cooperators. Often these are attached to communities of Salesians of Don Bosco or Salesian Sisters. Groups of Salesian Co-operators continue to flourish in places formerly served by Salesian communities and here it is the Cooperators who ensure the Salesian charism and the work of Don Bosco continues in these areas. Centres also exist in other places where there are groups of people inspired by Don Bosco and called to share in his mission.
The local groups in our province are:
In the South-East of England: Battersea, Chertsey, Cowley, Farnborough, Henley-on-Thames, Rotherhithe, and Streatham
In the South-West of England: Cornwall
In the North West of England: Bollington, Bootle, Croxteth, Huyton, and Kendal
In Scotland: Easterhouse, Milton, and Paisley
Many of our newer Cooperators first met the Salesians as retreatants, volunteers, or as participants in summer camps or other activities. Often not living near any existing Cooperator Group, these Detatched Cooperators are a growing group and we hold occasional regional and national events to offer support and community to them.
